In 1989 I began to work with clay myself. I took several courses in pottery and ceramics to learn the basic skills and techniques. Some time later, I set up a small hobby workshop of my own with a potter's wheel and an electric kiln. At the same time I continued learning from more courses and through experimentation on my own.My special interest concerns "primitive" firing techniques, mainly the Japanese craft of Raku, because it gives me the possibility to immediately influence the result of firing.
My second scope is wheel-thrown stoneware for children and dolls. Sometimes I execute stoneware by commision. Pottery is my hobby, that is why I do not want to make it a commercial venture.
I participaded in a two-man show with a friend from September 29 to October 4, 1996. What you see here, "Fire and Flame", displaying ceramics that result from experiments with adventure-firing.
